Use Your Router
Setting up a VPN on your router will automatically route all devices on your network, including your Xbox, through the VPN connection. Here’s how you can do that:
- Sign up for MysteriumVPN.
- Log in to your router’s admin panel via a web browser (the router’s address can be found on a physical sticker on your router, or by looking up the Gateway address of your Wi-Fi).
- Locate the VPN settings section. This may vary depending on your router model and firmware. Note that your router must have the ability to support VPN connections.
- Enter your VPN credentials and server configuration (provided by your VPN provider).
- Save and apply the changes.
- Restart your router.
- Turn on your Xbox and connect it to the same network—your traffic will now be routed through the VPN.
Note: Not all routers support VPN connections. If yours doesn’t, you could try flashing it with firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato or purchasing a VPN-ready router.
Connect via Windows PC
You can share a VPN connection from your Windows computer to your Xbox using an Ethernet cable. Here’s how:
- Install and connect to Mysterium VPN on your Windows PC.
- Connect your Xbox to your PC using an Ethernet cable.
- Open the Control Panel and go to the Network and Sharing Center.
- Click Change adapter settings.
- Right-click on the VPN connection and select Properties.
- Go to the Sharing tab and check Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection.
- Select the Ethernet connection used by your Xbox.
- Restart your Xbox—it will now use your PC’s VPN connection.
